Almost every MVP I see ships without proper tracking.

Founders are focused on features. Tracking feels like overhead. Engineers add a few obvious events and move on.

A year later when teams want to understand retention, activation, or which features actually drove growth, the data isn't there. They have a year of users and no idea how those users behaved.

Tracking is the unsexy work that determines whether the next year of decisions is informed or guessed.

In some cases, knowing how users actually use your product matters more than shipping the next feature.
