Most companies don't actually have someone owning analytics implementation end-to-end.
Product defines events. Engineering ships features. Data consumes output.
But nobody continuously owns:
- event consistency
- implementation quality
- platform alignment
- semantic continuity
- drift detection
So tracking becomes:
- partially implemented
- inconsistently updated
- slowly outdated
Not because teams are bad, because ownership is fragmented.
Tracking is usually treated as:
- a task
- a ticket
- a side responsibility
But analytics reliability is not a one-time task. It's an ongoing ownership problem.
And sometimes, the ability to trust your product data is more important than shipping one more feature, because features can be improved later, but decisions built on unreliable data compound quietly over time.
